Re: snprintf error
It's normal that when a Cafu executable is run for the first time, there is a question if it is allowed to open a network connection. This is because we actually run a network game even for single player games, connecting the local client to the local server in the same executable. But the virus sca...

Re: snprintf error
Hi arfur, it's good to hear that you could resolve the problem with the snprintf() call! Were the executables that AVG removed those that ship with the 2013 demo or those in your custom build? Do you have any details about what AVG's complaint with these files is? I'm still a bit indecisive abo...

Re: No Cafu.exe
Hello TWP, welcome to the Cafu forums! :welcome: At this time, I'm unfortunately very occupied with other projects, so I barely have time to create new binary releases. (Actually, coming up with a better build system, likely on the basis of https://cmake.org/, is intended and planned as a next step ...

Hello Rob,
welcome to the Cafu forums!
At the above mentioned dive-in page, you can get the Cafu source code or (a bit lower on the same page in section Binary Releases) ready-made binary demos. The latter come in zip files and contain the executables.

Re: Serious question about Cafu.exe and CaWE rendering problems.
It's great to hear that you solved the problem! :wohow: Why exactly it didn't work with 16 BPP is difficult to tell from here, as I cannot see the details of your system. However, I actually would have expected quite the opposite, namely that it doesn't work with 16 BPP at all and quits with an erro...

Hi Dax,
welcome to the Cafu forums!
Are there any error messages when you run
Btw., why was it a problem compiling GLFW? Did you install from the Git repositories as explained at Getting Started with the Cafu Source Code?

Re: Any Plan For PBR Implementation?
Hi Kenji,
well, PBR is a broad concept with many models and variations. We have implemented a considerable part of it, although we're lacking some of the latest developments. And of course there is always room for improvement.
Help, in any variation, is always welcome!

Hi Kenji, welcome to the Cafu forums! :welcome: With PBR you mean Physically Based Rendering? Well, in the sense of the Wikipedia article about PBR , we have already covered many important parts of it: Radiosity lighting combined with Phong shading with normal maps and specular maps, detail maps, le...

Re: No Cafu.exe
Hi Pectabyte, welcome to the Cafu forums! :welcome: If you cloned the repository, you got the source code. You have to compile the source code in order to get an executable file. Instead you can download the binary release, it has a ready-to-run executable file. For both, start at https://www.cafu.d...

Re: Raspbian Building Issue
It seems that you've installed Cafu into directory /home/pi/Documents/Cafu Engine/cafu/ . Could you please rename this (or restart with a new clone) so that the path has no space characters? If you're renaming the path, that alone may not be sufficient to fully recover after a problem like this. Esp...

Hi, I suspect you're referring to the "Island-BaseTex.jpg"-method of overlaying the entire terrain with one big prefabricated "painting"? Yes. ... and your software correcting for escarpments (areas with lots of vertical faces)? Yes, although there really isn't much to correct. Some distortion canno...
